Israeli Apartheid Week Rally, South AfricaSAMWU PRESS STATEMENT 01 March 2010
The 6th International Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) will take place across the globe from the 1st to the 7th of March 2010! Since the launch of the IAW it has seen great successes and has become one of the most important activities in the Palestinian solidarity calendar.
The highlight event that has been organized for Johannesburg South Africa, a rally outside the Israeli Embassy in Pretoria, will take place on the 5th of March 2010. The Coalition for a Free Palestine invites all South Africans to partake in this historic event.
In solidarity we encourage fellow South Africans to intensify their unwavering support for the suffering men, woman and children of Palestine and to isolate all organizations and individuals doing business with Israel and its supporters. Many other activities have also been planned for this week, at Universities and schools. Together we will ensure that no form of support is rendered by the South African government to prop up a country that stands for everything South Africans fought against. Our message is simple; Justice and Peace for all! We as South Africans refuse to sit back and watch as Israel continuously and brutally strangulates the innocent population of Palestine.
